The Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA) is looking for leaders to fill positions on our national Board of Directors, the elected group of volunteers who support the work of ACHA and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance. The Nominating Committee needs your help in identifying candidates for the Board; if you are interested or know of someone who’s interested please read on!
Critical Time to Get Involved
The Nominating Committee has identified the following as high-priority goals for 2016 recruitment:
Expertise
Our approach will focus on professional/formal expertise in the following areas:
- Healthcare administration
- Philanthropy background
- Communications/marketing/PR expertise
- Experience on a governance nonprofit board
- Business/finance expertise
Demographics
Should reflect the clients we serve and who we want to serve:
- Ethnic/racial diversity
- Adults with CHD or their family members
- Geographic diversity to maintain national focus, with a priority emphasis this year on the West and Midwest
Personality Traits
Every board member elected should possess:
- Passion for the ACHA mission
- Willingness to dedicate time to the organization
- Understanding and ability to be a consensus builder
