The 14th Annual Scientific Sessions of the Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Outcome Collaborative (CNOC), "Riverfront Reflections: Bridging Research, Advocacy, and Care in Cardiac Neurodevelopment," takes place September 16–18.
CNOC is a collaborative of clinicians, researchers, patients, and families from around the world working together to improve neurodevelopment, mental health, and quality of life for people of all ages and stages with pediatric and congenital heart disease (CHD). As neurodevelopmental and mental health challenges may have a significant impact on adults with CHD, the Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA) is proud to continue its partnership with CNOC.
ACHA will be collaborating with CNOC for an interactive pre-conference workshop, “Advocacy in Action: Building a National Voice for Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Care,” on September 16. Join the workshop to explore how clinical research, patient experience, and federal policy intersect to shape outcomes for CHD patients. Both in-person and virtual format options are available for this year's Scientific Sessions. For more information and to register, click here.
ACHA will also host an in-person Listening Session/Focus Group for adult CHD patients and family members on the morning of September 19. We want to hear from the CHD community about neurocognitive concerns, screening tools used during clinic visits, and what adults with CHD need. If you are interested in joining the session/focus group, please contact ACHA Senior Director of Medical Affairs Danielle Hile at dhile@achaheart.org.
