Our Patient & Family Action Committee (PFAC) is made up of adults with CHD and immediate family members (spouses, partners, parents, siblings, and children) who help ACHA stay connected to the real, lived experiences of the CHD community. Through PFAC, we build a consistent, effective way to hear diverse perspectives and respond to them.
PFAC members help bring ACHA's vision to life, a future where every adult with CHD lives their fullest life by receiving quality health care and community support, through action in three key areas:
- Community outreach and education
- Legislative advocacy
- Fundraising
Because PFAC reflects the diversity of adults and families living with CHD across the country, their voices spark new ideas and shape our programs. They play a direct role in bringing initiatives to life in their communities and strengthen our impact. The PFAC serves as a standing advisory body to the ACHA Board of Directors.
ACHA PFAC members each represent one of nine distinct regions:
- New England (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont)
- Mid-Atlantic (New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania)
- East North Central (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin)
- West North Central (Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota)
- South Atlantic (Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington D.C., and West Virginia)
- East South Central (Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee)
- West South Central (Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas)
- Mountain (Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming)
