Join Us for ACHA's 2023 Virtual Research Symposium
We will be announcing our newest Research Grant Awardees during our Virtual Research Symposium! Since ACHA's emerging research program launched in 2019, we have invested more than half a million dollars to fund 18 research investigation specifically focused on adult congenital heart disease (ACHD). In fact, ACHA is the only national non-profit organization solely focusing on ACHD research.
We are excited to announce the following speakers and their topics of research for the symposium:
- Richard Krasuski, MD, and Yuli Kim, MD, Chair and Vice Chair of the Medical Advisory Board
- Dr. Krasuski: Peer Coaching Adaptive Self-Management Interventions for Young Adults with Congenital Heart Disease (CHASM IN ACHD)
- Nael Aldweib, MD: Serial C-Reactive Protein Measurements to Predict Clinical Events in Adults with Congenital Heart Disease
- Vicki Freedenberg, PhD, APRN: Exploring Mind Body Resilience and Coping/Cognitive Exercises-(EMBRACE): A Psychoeducational Intervention for Adult Congenital Heart Disease, a Randomized Control Trial
During the symposium, we will share information about the above ACHA funded research projects and discuss what we have learned from the research that we have funded thus far. We look forward to hearing about how researchers are utilizing what they have learned in their clinics and about any findings that were unexpected. We will identify how the ACHA research grants helped answer questions specifically focused on the ACHD population. We will also be taking questions from the audience during the symposium.
