Registration is now closed. Thank you to all of our participants; we are excited for Virtual Advocacy Day and look forward to seeing you at the training webinar on April 20! Please email advocacy@achaheart.org with any questions.

The Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA) and The Mended Hearts, Inc. are bringing Congress to YOU on May 4! Adult heart disease patients and congenital heart disease (CHD) patients, caregivers, and supporters are invited to participate in the ACHA and Mended Hearts, Inc. Virtual Advocacy Day 2022. This is an opportunity to learn more about issues affecting the heart disease community and join other advocates as they urge federal lawmakers to support legislation that will provide funding for heart disease research and innovation.

During Virtual Advocacy Day 2022 we will be advocating for the following:
  • Continued funding for heart disease and CHD
  • Passage of the CAROL Act to establish new programs and inter-agency coordination to study valvular disease
  • Support for legislation to address the lifelong needs of CHD patients ensuring there is an adequate workforce to meet the demands of the growing population of adult CHD survivors
  • Passage of the Newborn Screening Act to help ensure standardized reporting of pulse ox screening to ensure all critical CHD patients receive timely diagnosis and treatment

Whether you are an experienced advocate or not, ACHA and Mended Hearts, Inc. will provide training webinars, talking points, and other useful resources that will help you prepare for a successful Hill meeting.

IMPORTANT: We will use the information you provide to schedule virtual meetings with your appropriate Members of Congress. Please double-check your information for accuracy.
