February is Heart Month and we’re asking all of you to help us spread awareness of CHD and lifelong care by sharing the items we post on our social media networks. Many of you do this already throughout the year, but we are asking ALL our members to take note of our posts this month and pass them on. You may have noticed that our theme for this year’s Heart Month is Empowerment: Taking Control of your CHD, which we hope resonates with all of you.
For the first time, we have two frames directly accessible in Facebook for you to use on you profile photo. We also have shared cover photos and other graphics here. Throughout the month, you will also see other graphics and short videos with facts and other resources that you can share with your networks. Follow us and participate this month on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Thanks for helping us to spread the word!
Heart Month is also a great time to sign up for a Congenital Heart Walk event in your community, or perhaps to consider hosting your own small fundraiser to support ACHA. And, of course, the Meil Family Foundation Valentine Match Challenge continues all month long, so please consider making a donation today and increase the impact of your gift by 50%.
Finally, I look forward to seeing many of you later this month at our Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C., where together, we will advocate for CHD research and access to care. If you are unable to join us in D.C. this year, you can still participate by reaching out to your elected officials from home. We will post information on our priority issues throughout the Conference. So, either in person or remotely, lend your voice so Congress hears what matters most to the CHD community.
