The Adult Congenital Heart Association is excited to announce that Actelion Pharmaceuticals US, Inc. has awarded ACHA with funding to support 2016 program activities.
The programs supported include:
- The ACHA Actelion Fellowship Award, which fosters program start up and development of training programs that clearly demonstrate a sustainable commitment to ACHD care and fellowship training. ACHA will award two ACHA Actelion Fellowship Awards for 2017-2019 fellowships, and receive and review required reports from the fellows at six-month intervals.
- Platinum conference sponsorship of the 8th National ACHA Conference, Oct 7-8, 2016, in Orlando, FL. Our national conferences offer a unique opportunity for the entire ACHD community—patients, families, healthcare providers, and researchers—to come together to interact, learn and build hope for the future.
- ACHD Medical Program Accreditation, a process in which individual ACHD medical programs undergo careful review to make certain that they provide a standard of quality care to ACHD patients based on published guidelines and standards; five pilot sites have been selected.
- Patient education for existing program such as Heart to Heart Ambassadors, ACHA’s webinar series, and ACHA Where You Live Regional Events.
“Actelion has been and continues to be an instrumental partner in support of our mission to improve and extend the lives of the millions born with heart defects through education, advocacy and the promotion of research,” says ACHA National Executive Director Glenn R. Tringali. “The generous philanthropic support provided by Actelion has enabled us to expand our key programmatic initiatives and better serve our patient and professional communities.”
