Update on $4 Million for Federal CHD Funding

Posted Wednesday, Dec 10, 2014

We are excited to announce that the end of the year Omnibus Appropriations bill was filed last night, which includes a line item for congenital heart defects. The agreement provides $4 million to expand the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's surveillance of CHD among adolescents and adults in order to better understand issues relating to CHD incidence, prevalence, disparities and barriers to optimal care for those with CHD.

CHD funding on a federal level would not be possible without our legislative champions and the help of our tireless volunteer advocates, in our nation's capitol, locally, and from home.

What can YOU do? You can reach out to your Representatives and Senators, by calling or emailing, letting them know how important this is to you, and to thank them for supporting the CDC CHD Program through the FY15 Omnibus Appropriations bill.

And please consider joining us in Washington, D.C, in February for our next advocacy event! To learn more and register for the Legislative Conference on February 25-26, 2015, click here.
