Director's Description

Nationally accredited through the Adult Congenital Heart Association, an innovative program in Western Pennsylvania providing regionalized and specialized expertise care. The UPMC Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to address the unique needs of the adult with a variety of complex congenital defects. Unique to this program is the well-developed relationship between the ACHD Program and the Heart Failure/Transplant teams at UPMC. Together this team of physicians address the growing number of patients with heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and those requiring transplant evaluation. The UPMC ACHD program has a
collaborative relationship with the maternal fetal medicine physicians to co-manage patients with congenital heart disease prior to, during, and post pregnancy. The ACHD Program is an integrated part of UPMC Children's Hospital Heart Institute which is ranked #3 Nationally in Cardiovascular care in the US News & World Report..
