Director's Description

The Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Program at Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute is proud to be the first ACHD program in Florida and the only one in South Florida, accredited by the Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA).

Located on a shared campus with both our adult and pediatric hospitals, we offer unparalleled continuity of care—from prenatal diagnosis to adulthood. This unique setting allows us to seamlessly care for patients throughout every stage of life.

Our ACHD team includes nationally recognized, board-certified specialists in pediatric cardiology, adult cardiology, and adult congenital heart disease. Our team works closely with a multidisciplinary team of experts—including electrophysiologists, interventional cardiologists, imaging specialists, heart transplant surgeons, and others—to deliver highly individualized and comprehensive care. Our program also serves as a training site for adult cardiology providers, ensuring the next generation of specialists is well-prepared to treat this complex population.

We remain at the forefront of innovation, offering advanced therapies and devices—such as newer transcatheter heart valves—that help reduce the need for multiple surgeries in adults with congenital heart disease.

Guided by Memorial’s mission “to heal the mind, body and spirit of those we touch,” our specially trained, patient- and family-centered team is committed to providing compassionate, personalized, lifelong care—working in close partnership with patients and families to help them achieve the best possible quality of life and lead full, active lives.
