Director's Description
The WashU Medicine "Center for Adults with Congenital Heart Disease" at Barnes-Jewish and St. Louis Children’s Hospitals is dedicated to the comprehensive care of adults with congenital heart disease. Our ACHD team is equipped to provide compassionate care to our patients through a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach. We are here to partner with you through all stages of adulthood, starting with our transition program in adolescence extending through late adulthood. We also provide close collaboration with maternal fetal medicine and cardio-obstetric specialists during childbearing years. If advanced therapies, procedures, or surgeries are required, our close partnership with both adult and congenital cardiothoracic surgeons, interventional cardiologists, and electrophysiologists, as well as the top regional heart failure and transplant center allows for seamless, multidisciplinary, patient-centered care. Our center operates on a shared pediatric and adult medical campus, which provides ACHD patients with the most innovative and personalized care for all their health needs. Our center’s team of skilled adult congenital specialists currently treats more than 2,000 patients from Missouri, Illinois, and surrounding states. Led by one of the region’s only board certified adult congenital cardiologists, our program is dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients and strives for national leadership in this field.
