Director's Description
The MACC Center provides world- class, lifelong care for the full spectrum of congenital heart disease. Patients receive coordinated care from an expert team of specialists from Minneapolis Heart Institute and Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. The MACC Center also works in collaboration with Minnesota Perinatal Physicians and The Mother Baby Center at Abbott Northwestern Hospital to care for high- risk pregnancies in women who have acquired and congenital heart disease.
Inpatient and outpatient services include:
• Routine and advanced imaging
• Cardiac and non- cardiac surgeries
• Cardiac anesthesiologists
• Cardiac catheterizations and interventional procedures
• Electrophysiology studies and interventions such as ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator placement
• Heart failure management and transplantation evaluation
• Valvular and vascular medicine assessment and interventions
• Pulmonary hypertension assessment and management
• Support for young patients transitioning from pediatric to adult care
• Contraception and family planning
• Genetic counseling and high risk pregnancy care
• Family and patient support and guidance
