Director's Description

The Vanderbilt Adult Congenital Heart Program is a collaboration between Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute and Vanderbilt's Pediatric Heart Institute and consists of physicians and providers from both programs. Since Vanderbilt's medical center campus includes both the children's and adult hospitals, ACHD patients are able to seamlessly utilize resources from both adult and pediatric medicine which is a rare advantage of the program and allows for delivery of personalized, best care. Vanderbilt University Medical Center provides access to: board certified ACHD cardiologists,
congenital heart surgeons, ACHD electrophysiology / pacing specialists, interventional cardiologists (both adult and pediatric), congenital MRI specialists, heart failure / transplant cardiologist, adult cardiology, pulmonary hypertension specialists, and hepatologists. Since advanced heart failure management and transplantation will be in increasing demand as the ACHD population ages, Vanderbilt has forged a unique collaboration between the ACHD and adult heart failure/transplant and plans on growing this endeavor over time.
