Director's Description

The Center for Adults with Congenital Heart Disease at Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis includes two adult cardiologists, both Board Certified in Adult Congenital Heart Disease, a Nurse Practitioner and two Nurse coordinators. The adult hospital, Barnes- Jewish Hospital, is physically connected to St Louis Children's Hospital with which we maintain a very close affiliation. We, in close collaboration with affiliated adult and pediatric cardiologists, interventionalists, electrophysiologists, radiologists, and congenital cardiothoracic surgeons, have expertise in all types of adult congenital surgical repair including heart transplantation, treatment of arrhythmia, pacemaker and device placement, care of pregnant patients with congenital heart disease, cardiac catheterization and percutaneous intervention including placement of Melody and Sapien valves and the Alterra device, and
management of patients with pulmonary hypertension. State of the art equipment is in place for all imaging modalities including dedicated congenital echocardiography, CT scanning, magnetic resonance imaging and 3D printing.
