With approximately 1 in 100 births affected each year, congenital heart defects are the most common type of birth defect in the United States.
Today, most children receive congenital heart defect treatment and live to adulthood. The frequency of heart defects is underappreciated, and there is even less understanding of the growing relevance and importance of adult survivors with congenital heart disease (CHD). Today, an estimated 2.5 million people are affected by CHD in the United States, with nearly 2 million being adults.
Every baby born with a heart defect should have the opportunity to thrive throughout their lifespan, not just to age 18. ACHA’s vision is that every adult with CHD receives specialized cardiac care and we are the only national non-profit organization dedicated solely to serving the growing number of adults with CHD and the specialty medical providers who care for them.

Will I get a receipt with my donation? To receive a receipt with your donation, you must enter your email when prompted to in our donation widget above.
Can I donate anonymously? Of course! However, if you’d like to receive a tax receipt, you must enter your email address when prompted on the third section of the donation widget above. A tax receipt will only be sent once you’ve entered your email address.
