Hello there! I'm Christine Wenzl, proudly serving as the Midwest Regional Engagement Specialist for ACHA, representing Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. I am based in Lincoln, NE. A true hometown enthusiast, I was born and raised in Lincoln (GBR!!). My journey led me to pursue a degree in criminal justice, igniting a passion for advocacy and support.
I am deeply committed to championing individuals living with congenital heart disease, alongside their family members, loved ones, and the dedicated medical professionals who stand by them. My mission is clear: to raise awareness, offer essential resources, and nurture a strong sense of community for those navigating this challenging condition throughout the Midwest.
It’s easy to get started with ACHA, so here are three key things you can do to get to know us better and learn about ways we can help you:
- Sign up for our mailing list. Find out what we’re doing in the Midwest and across the country.
- Check out ACHA’s events and ACHA’s resources. In our area, we offer CHD Connections virtually and in-person, and a Walk for 1 in 100 in Iowa City. The top requests I get for resources are to learn about specific types of heart defects, where to get care, and for emotional support.
- Send me a message! Let me know how I can help you, and I can navigate you to the best programs for your situation.
I make monthly visits to some ACHD clinics in Nebraska, and I’m looking to expand to other clinics as well. Ask for me if you don’t see me!
With unwavering dedication, I strive to make a meaningful impact through my dedicated efforts. Let's embark on this journey together, making a positive difference in the lives of those affected by congenital heart disease.
