As the year winds down and we all celebrate the holiday season, ACHA has much to reflect upon and celebrate this year!
More than 35,000 people visited our ACHD Clinic Directory so far this year—making it the most visited page of achaheart.org—and helping us improve access to quality care to all adults living with congenital heart disease. In July, we introduced our Patient Resource Directory, which now has 175+ entries to help eliminate barriers to accessing specialized cardiac care.
Requests for support through our Heart to Heart Peer Mentor program more than doubled, with our trained mentors connecting with 137 people and counting. And in September we awarded four new grants through our research program; we remain the only national patient advocacy organization focusing solely on ACHD research. Since 2019, we’ve awarded $500,000 to 18 researchers focusing on ACHD.
But we’ve only just begun the work we need to do. Look out for our 2024 plans soon!
