About the Speaker: Ruth Phillippi recently completed her Master’s degree in Narrative Medicine at Columbia University, a field focusing on the importance of each individual’s story as a means to provide compassionate and competent healthcare. Her experiences as an adult with congenital heart disease have given her a passion for bridging the communication gap between healthcare providers, patients and their families. A Philadelphia native, she has an undergraduate degree in Communications and French and enjoys traveling, especially abroad, as often as possible.
