ACHA 09 will included three intersecting tracks:
The ACHA 09 Research Symposium—Clinicians and researchers involved in ACHD medical management, as well as research mentors from both within and outside ACHD care. Particular emphasis will be placed on ACHD Sudden Cardiac Death and Malignant Arrhythmia, and Quality Research in ACHD Care. ACHD researchers will participate in an abstract submission process and be selected for oral presentations on both Friday and Saturday.
The ACHA 09 Professionals Sessions—Dynamic, interactive sessions tailored to the health care professional with a focused practice in adult congenital heart disease. Both clinical and organizational topics will again be addressed, including non-cardiac medical disease in ACHD patients, evaluation and therapy of ACHD-associated heart failure, and administrative and business planning for ACHD programs.
The 2020 Vision Forum—New session that will expand the ACHD discussion further to address relevant health policy issues such as insurance access, ACHD and legislation, and national quality and research initiatives.
Abstracts—We invite ACHD-focused abstracts to be submitted for both oral and poster presentation at the ACHA professionals conference and research symposium April 2009.
