NHLBI grants awarded to ACHD researchers
The National Heart Lung and Blood Institute regularly awards grants to support the career development of investigators who are committed to patient-oriented research. This year, two ACHD researchers won these competitive grants: Dr. Michelle Gurvitz for the development of a quality assessment tool for ACHD and Dr. Craig Broberg for his study on heart failure in CHD and the role of myocardial fibrosis. Dr. Gurvitz is on ACHA’s Medical Advisory Board and is a former president of AARCC, the Alliance for Adult Research in Congenital Cardiology. Dr. Broberg is the current president of AARCC and is co-chairing ACHA’s next Research Symposium, to take place alongside the 6th National ACHA Conference in Los Angeles.
