|The Montreal Heart Institute (MHI) Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Center is dedicated to providing the highest levels of comprehensive, innovative, and compassionate care to the adult with congenital heart
disease. It is the first and largest center in Quebec dedicated to the care of adults with congenital heart disease, and one of the most prominent internationally. The center is unique in the diversity and depth of its
expertise, with a highly trained team specialized in all aspects of care, including non-invasive imaging, arrhythmias, interventional catheter procedures, high-risk pregnancy, pulmonary hypertension, congenital
surgery, genetics, and research.
It is devoted to providing patients and their family members with support and information to guide them towards improving their quality of life and promoting their own health interests. It is also committed to the transmission of knowledge and training in multidisciplinary care and to the pursuit of excellence through
research. The MHI ACHD promotes regional, national, and international exchanges and collaborations.
Three specialized fellowship streams are offered, i.e., imaging, electrophysiology, and interventional that share core training in clinical ACHD care. Fellows are fully integrated into the ACHD center’s activities, including inpatient care, teaching rounds, and conferences. Full fellowship scholarships are limited and available on a competitive basis. All prospective applicants are encouraged to seek external sources of funding. This may be
accomplished in collaboration with members of the MHI ACHD team.
