Director's Description
Center for Adult congenital heart disease at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is the only comprehensive ACHD program located in NJ state. Dr Madan, the director the ACHD program is one of approximately 60 cardiologists who have received formal training and has expertise in ACHD. We follow a patient centric approach and try to pre-plan and obtain all pertinent investigations and consultations in a single day or in as few visits as possible so as to minimize discomfort to our patients. All specialities including one of the largest heart transplant program in US is available on site for advanced therapeutics and management. We encourage our patients to take charge of their health care and their medical records. We collaborate with patients' community cardiologists and primary care providers to optimize ACHD care. We strive to provide the patients same day appointments or their first preference. We have organized online support group for our patients and schedule face to face meetings every few months. Several educational sessions about ACHD are offered to physicians and patients every month.
