We can’t afford to wait. Our lawmakers need to hear more about the impact of congenital heart disease. They need to understand why NIH funding for research and CDC funding for surveillance is so critically important to this population.
Join the party. During our visits, we are also inviting our Representatives to join the Congenital Heart Caucus. In doing so, they will demonstrate their support for congenital heart disease. The caucus serves as a vehicle for the CHD community to quickly disseminate information to our representatives, including research updates, current legislative activities, and opportunities for them to engage.
Festivities in Washington. Based on participant feedback, we have added a second day of education for our advocates on Monday. After learning about our priorities and how they fit into the current political climate, join us for a welcome reception. This is an excellent opportunity to join colleagues, patients and families to celebrate our passion for congenital heart disease efforts. Tuesday morning will begin bright and early to prepare for your legislative visits throughout the day. Transportation to and from the Hill will be provided. To wrap things up, participate in a closing reception to celebrate a day of hard work.
